چکیده
Abstract Background To evaluate the feasibility and safety of a new minimally-invasive surgical approach–anteromedial plate osteosynthesis (MIPO)–in treatment middle distal humeral shaft fractures. Methods Fourteen patients with fracture treated anteromedial MIPO from November 2016 to March 2020 (MIPO Group) were selected as study subjects. Open reduction internal fixation (ORIF) used treat 14 fractures control group (ORIF group). The two groups fixed locking compression (LCP) or LCP + multi-directional screw system (MDLS). incision length, intraoperative blood loss, fluoroscopy time, operation length hospital stay, healing QuickDASH score Constant observed compared between groups. Results enrolled in each group. (7.79 ± 2.39 cm), loss (96.07 14.96 mL), operative time (110.57 21.90 min), stay (6.29 1.49 days) (14.94 0.99 weeks) all lower than those ORIF group, difference was statistically significant for parameter ( P < 0.05). (20.07 3.22) significantly higher that There no differences age = 0.078), 0.074) 0.293) postoperative complications occurred any patients. Conclusion approach technique has advantages less trauma, bleeding, low risk nerve injury high rate healing. It is one most effective methods middle–distal

متن کاملTreatment of Humeral Shaft Fractures: Minimally Invasive Plate Osteosynthesis Versus Open Reduction and Internal Fixation
BACKGROUND The optimal technique for operative fixation of humeral shaft fractures remains controversial and warrants research. OBJECTIVES The purpose of the current study was to compare the functional and clinical outcomes of conventional open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) with minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis (MIPO) in patients with fractures in two-third distal humeral shaf...
متن کاملMinimally Invasive Plate Osteosynthesis Using a Screw Compression Method for Treatment of Humeral Shaft Fractures
Background This study aims to compare the surgical outcomes of open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) and minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis (MIPO) using a screw compression method in simple humeral shaft fractures. Methods This retrospective study was performed with 50 patients who had surgical interventions for the treatment of simple humeral shaft fractures and had follow-ups of ...
متن کاملMinimally invasive plate osteosynthesis of the humeral shaft
Although conservative management of humeral diaphyseal fractures has shown good results in about 90% of cases [1, 2], there are both absolute and relative indications for surgical treatment, such as polytrauma, open fractures, bilateral fractures, floating elbow, etc [3]. Minimally invasive surgical techniques in diaphyseal fractures of long bones have shown advantages over the open conventiona...
متن کاملEffects of different surgical techniques on mid-distal humeral shaft vascularity: open reduction and internal fixation versus minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis
BACKGROUND Humeral shaft fractures are generally managed with the conventional posterior open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) or minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis (MIPO). This study was aimed at comparing the outcomes of these surgical techniques in terms of the vascular integrity of the mid-distal humeral shaft. METHODS Twelve upper limbs were harvested from 6 fresh cadavers. OR...
